Having just played yesterday, the Booker Tornadoes will head out on the road to face off against the DeSoto County Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on January 25th. Booker is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.
Booker posted their biggest win since December 11, 2023 on Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Bayshore 82-46 on the road.
Booker's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jamareon Ruffin, who scored 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jovan Palavra, who scored 15 points.
DeSoto County suffered their biggest loss since December 14, 2023 on Monday. They had to suffer through a rough 85-43 loss at the hands of Bayshore. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for DeSoto County in their matchups with Bayshore: they've now lost three in a row.
Despite their loss, DeSoto County saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Rylan Unruh, who scored nine points along with nine rebounds and three steals, was perhaps the best of all. Unruh has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times he's played. Julian Quezada was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Booker's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-9. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.0 points per game. As for DeSoto County, their loss dropped their record down to 2-20.
Everything came up roses for Booker against DeSoto County in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 as the squad secured a 89-42 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Booker since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
