The Colton Yellowjackets and the Citrus Hill Hawks will face off at 10:30 a.m. on December 29th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Citrus Hill took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Colton, who comes in off a win.
On Thursday, Colton wrapped up 2023 with a 61-45 win over Loma Linda Academy. The victory was just what Colton needed coming off of a 67-42 loss in their prior game.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Citrus Hill, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 67-52 loss to Corona on Thursday. Citrus Hill has struggled against Corona recently, as their contest on Thursday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Roland Thibodeaux put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. He scored a full 28.8% of Citrus Hill's points, the seventh time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kannon Steward, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds.
The win got Colton back to even at 7-7. As for Citrus Hill, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season.
Colton strolled past Citrus Hill when the teams last played back in December of 2022 by a score of 53-36. Will Colton repeat their success, or does Citrus Hill have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
