Tina-Avalon's loss came despite strong showings from Abby Jones and Madeline O'Neal. Jones dropped a double-double on 13 points and 10 rebounds, while O'Neal scored 10 points along with 6 rebounds and 3 steals. Jones scored a full 38.2% of Tina-Avalon's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Tina-Avalon's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Santa Fe, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Tina-Avalon will be playing at home against Slater at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Santa Fe, they will head out on the road to face off against Bunceton at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
