Mullen hasn't had much luck against Cherry Creek recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Mustangs will take on the Bruins at 4:15 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Mullen is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They never let Smoky Hill get on the board and left with a 15-0 win on Monday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Mustangs considering their one-run performance the contest before.

Henry Paton
Henry Paton looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Mullen is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 5-9 otherwise.
At the plate, Blake Young was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and five RBI. He also scored two runs, which is notable because Mullen is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 4-10 otherwise. Thomas Stewart was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Mullen kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Smoky Hill only managed two hits.
Meanwhile, Cherry Creek entered their tilt with Mullen on Saturday with ten consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with 11. They came out on top against the Mustangs by a score of 4-1.
Max Goldberg looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Mason Scott, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Tyce Smith, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.
Cherry Creek's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-4-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for Mullen, their victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-6 and their overall record up to 7-10.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Tuesday. Mullen hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.6 home runs per game. However, it's not like Cherry Creek struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.6 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Mullen couldn't quite get it done against Cherry Creek when the teams last played on Saturday as they fell 4-1. Can the Mustangs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
