In what's become a running theme this season, the Valley Vikings gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. They blew past Eldorado 65-14 at home. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Valley has managed all season.
Valley was led to victory by Jennifer Hughes and Anaya Williams. Hughes scored six points along with 17 rebounds and four steals, while Williams dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. Williams also posted eight assists for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Quinn Steidler, who scored ten points along with three steals.
When it comes to explaining why Eldorado lost, one person who can't be blamed is Sara Torrico Lopez. Despite the final result, she scored five points. That was a full 35.7% of Eldorado's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Valley's win bumped their record up to 10-7. As for Eldorado, their defeat was their tenth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 2-10.
Valley will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Amplus Academy at 6:30 p.m. Amplus Academy comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Eldorado, they will head out on the road to square off against Cheyenne at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Cheyenne is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games.
