The High Tech SD Storm will challenge the La Jolla Vikings at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as High Tech SD comes in on three and La Jolla on nine.
High Tech SD is headed into the matchup having just posted their closest victory since April 30, 2025 on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Kearny 8-6.
Lucia Williams spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and three unearned) runs on five hits and racked up six Ks.
At the plate, High Tech SD let Xima Martinez and Nina Asnani run wild. Martinez went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run, while Asnani went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those two doubles gave Martinez a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Julia Melchor, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: High Tech SD kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 7-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask La Jolla). They blew past Hoover 26-6 on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Vikings, who have now won nine games by ten runs or more so far this season.
Jacey Taylor made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. Taylor was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with four runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 2 runs per game.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Aviv Laska, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and eight RBI. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Savannah Putnam was another key player, going 3-for-5 with three runs, two RBI, and one double.
The victory got High Tech SD back to even at 8-8. As for La Jolla, they now have a winning record of 12-11.
Thursday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. High Tech SD hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .380. However, it's not like La Jolla struggles in that department as they've averaged .413. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
High Tech SD might still be hurting after the 11-0 loss they got from La Jolla in their previous meeting two weeks ago. Will the Storm have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
