The Chandler Lions won the last time they faced the Luther Lions, and things went their way on Friday too. Chandler took down Luther 37-20. The win made it back-to-back wins for Chandler.
Chandler got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Braxton Estes out in front who rushed for 101 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 carries, and also threw for 103 yards and two touchdowns on only nine passes. Carson Clagg was another key contributor, rushing for 203 yards.
When it comes to explaining why Luther lost, one person who can't be blamed is Ruben Vega. Despite the final result, he rushed for 183 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries. Vega is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last six games he's played.
Chandler is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season. As for Luther, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.
Chandler will be playing at home against Alva at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Alva will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Oklahoma Rankings (they are ranked 129th, while Chandler is ranked 45th). Luther does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
