North Phoenix Preparatory Academy took care of business in their home opener on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 61-42 victory over the San Pasqual Valley Warriors. This was payback for the Gladiators, who suffered a 39-31 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Despite the loss, San Pasqual Valley still got an impressive performance from Isaiah Martinez, who dropped a double-double with 30 points and 18 rebounds. Martinez is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down 14 or more in each of the last three games he's played dating back to last season.
Coming up, North Phoenix Preparatory Academy is headed away from home for the first time to face off against Valley Lutheran at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for San Pasqual Valley, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Antelope at 7:00 p.m. on December 1.
