Even though the Canyon Springs Cougars scored an imposing 79 points on Wednesday, the Heritage Patriots still came out on top. Heritage took their matchup against Canyon Springs 89-79. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Heritage.
Heritage's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aiden De Leon, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 14 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points De Leon has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Donovan Larry, who scored 27 points.
Canyon Springs' loss came despite strong showings from Gabriel Rojo and Derek Williams. Rojo scored 27 points, while Williams scored 14 points along with five assists and five rebounds. Rojo is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. Tyler Vann was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Heritage pushed their record up to 10-14 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 87.0 points per game. As for Canyon Springs, their loss dropped their record down to 15-10.
