The Holy Name Green Wave scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They breezed by Valley Forge on the road to the tune of 78-36. Holy Name has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 22 points or more this season.
Holy Name found their leader in underclassman Claire Coljohn, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 19 rebounds. Coljohn hasn't dropped below 15 points for four straight games. Layla Rudolph was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with six rebounds and six steals.
Valley Forge lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Cloe Rzeczycki, who scored five points along with four blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Kallie Yeager, who scored six points along with seven rebounds.
Holy Name's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-10. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.0 points per game. As for Valley Forge, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-19.
Holy Name will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Marlington at 7:00 p.m. on February 21st. As for Valley Forge, they will be playing at home against Wellington at 1:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Wellington focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Saturday.
