The Chiles Timberwolves had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They breezed by Wakulla at home to the tune of 59-26. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 40-7.
Faith Durden had an outrageously good game as she went 7 for 14 from beyond the arc en route to 29 points and 2 assists. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Chiles' points. Makenzie Herzing was another key contributor, scoring 6 points along with 8 steals and 6 rebounds.
Kyendra Thomas and Victoria Proulx certainly did their best on Thursday to try and avoid the loss. Thomas scored 12 points along with 5 rebounds and 5 steals, while Proulx scored 8 points. The contest was Thomas' sixth in a row with at least ten points.
Chiles' victory bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Wakulla, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chiles won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Leon at 7:00 p.m. on December 8th. Hopefully Leon focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 36 on Tuesday. As for Wakulla, they will head out on the road to face off against Godby at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Godby is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games.
