The Viewmont Vikings came tearing into Wednesday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victor by a 77-54 margin over Clearfield. That 23 points margin sets a new team best for Viewmont this season.
Viewmont's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Max Larsen, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Larsen has scored all season. Preston Weaver was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with five rebounds.
Viewmont pushed their record up to 5-11 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.7 points per game. As for Clearfield, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-12.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Viewmont will take on Roy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Roy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four games -- so hopefully Viewmont likes a good challenge. As for Clearfield, they will be playing at home against Northridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Utah (Northridge is ranked 75th, while Clearfield is ranked 85th).
