The Antelope Titans will head out on the road to take on the Manteca Buffaloes at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Antelope's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last 13 games.
Antelope pushed their score all the way to 66 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 71-66 hit to the loss column at the hands of Inderkum. While losing is never fun, Antelope can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 283rd, while Inderkum is ranked 50th).
Despite their defeat, Antelope saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Daunte Martin, who scored 12 points along with five assists and five steals, was perhaps the best of all. Logan Melton was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Meanwhile, after a string of six wins, Manteca's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They fell to Central Catholic 57-51. The loss was just more heartbreak for Manteca who fell 47-45 when the teams previously met back in February of 2023.
Like Antelope, Manteca lost despite seeing results from several players. Peyton Nieman led the charge by scoring 19 points. Another player making a difference was Evani Gaeta, who scored ten points along with seven assists.
Antelope's record now sits at 14-14. As for Manteca, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 19-9.
