Dakota Prairie has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 193 points over their last three matchups.
Dakota Prairie scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They escaped with a win against Warwick by the margin of a single free throw, 79-78. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Meanwhile, St. John was the victim of a rough 71-45 defeat at the hands of North Star co-op [Cando/Bisbee-Egeland] on Monday. St. John was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-19.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Aston Parisien, who scored ten points along with five assists and three steals. He hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Tayden Longie was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Dakota Prairie's win ended a eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-2. As for St. John, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-15 record this season.
Dakota Prairie lost to St. John at home by a decisive 68-49 margin in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Thankfully for Dakota Prairie, Brayton Baker (who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
