Basketball Recap: Empire Starts Season with Win on the Road

Empire had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They simply couldn't be stopped on Wednesday as they easily beat the San Miguel Vipers 41-7. The Ravens not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since November 20, 2024 (when they won 72-14).

Empire found their leader in sophomore Amanda Pacheco, who almost dropped a double-double with 14 points and nine boards. Cazlynn Darling was another key player, putting up eight points and six steals.

Empire has already played their next game, a 46-30 defeat against Baboquivari on the 21st. As for San Miguel, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 45-9 loss against Valley Union on the 20th.
