The Zephyrhills Bulldogs and the Wesley Chapel Wildcats will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 16th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Zephyrhills can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They snuck past South Sumter with a 63-58 win.
Meanwhile, Wesley Chapel waltzed into their game on Saturday with five straight wins but they left with six. They claimed a resounding 86-58 victory over P.K. Yonge on the road. Wesley Chapel has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 25 points or more this season.
It was another big night for Trey Murray, who scored 25 points along with three steals. Murray is absolutely dominating the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Sian Morris, who scored 19 points.
The victory got Zephyrhills back to even at 7-7. As for Wesley Chapel, their victory bumped their record up to 13-3.
Zephyrhills couldn't quite finish off Wesley Chapel when the teams last played back in December of 2023 and fell 73-71. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Murray, who scored 32 points. Now that Zephyrhills knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time?
