The Stillwater Warriors will square off against the Tioga Tigers at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Stillwater sitting on five straight victories and Tioga on 27 (dating back to last season).
Stillwater extended their postseason success on Friday against Haldane. They came out on top against the Blue Devils by a score of 21-14.
Jaxon Mueller was his usual excellent self, rushing for 130 yards and three touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Tioga can now show off 12 landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Clymer Central/Sherman/Panama 63-16 on the road. Tioga's win was all the more impressive since Clymer Central/Sherman/Panama was averaging only 14.67 points allowed on the season.
It was another big night for Drew Macumber, who rushed for 234 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 9.0 yards per carry. Macumber has been hot recently, having posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Caden Bellis, who rushed for 122 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries.
Their wins bumped Stillwater to 11-1 and Haldane to 8-3.
Saturday's game might be decided on the ground as these two are both standouts in the run game. Stillwater has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 271.8 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Tioga struggles in that department as they've been even better at 298 per game. It's looking like Saturday's matchup might have some serious battles in the trenches.
