The Cooper City Cowboys scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They blew past Monarch 51-23 at home. The result was nothing new for Cooper City, who have now won three matchups by 28 points or more so far this season.
Cooper City found their leader in underclassman Bella Verzura-Macias, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and three blocks. Those 14 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Isabella Riollana, who scored four points along with seven rebounds and six steals.
Cooper City's win bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Monarch, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 1-8.
Cooper City will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Flanagan at 6:00 p.m. on January 9, 2024. Monarch will be home for the holidays to greet Coconut Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Coconut Creek focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Saturday.
