Hamilton County hasn't had much luck against Dixie County recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Trojans will welcome the Bears at 7:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
On Friday, Hamilton County got the win against FAMU DRS by a conclusive 17-2. While fans of the Trojans might be used to big wins, the 15-run margin marked the team's biggest one yet.
Noah Smith got the start for Hamilton County and what a start it was: he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over 4.1 innings pitched. Smith has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Hamilton County got a massive performance out of Tucker Flynn, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, two stolen bases, and three RBI. Flynn has become a key player for the Trojans: the team is 8-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 1-3 otherwise. Braxton Stormant was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles.
Hamilton County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as FAMU DRS only managed four.
Meanwhile, Dixie County made easy work of Fort White on Tuesday and carried off a 20-5 win. The Bears haven't had any issues with the Indians recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.
Gray Wampler was a standout: he went a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, four runs, and three RBI. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Joel Lord, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two RBI and one run.
Hamilton County's win bumped their record up to 9-4. As for Dixie County, their victory bumped their record up to 8-4.
