The Smyrna Bulldogs will head out on the road to face off against the Cane Ridge Ravens at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The last three games Smyrna has played have been within five points, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
Last Friday, Smyrna didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Antioch, but they still walked away with a 30-26 victory.
Smyrna got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Thomas Jones out in front who rushed for 100 yards and two touchdowns. Austin Morris was another key contributor, throwing for 175 yards and two touchdowns while completing 77.3% of his passes.
Meanwhile, Cane Ridge had just enough and edged McGavock out 17-14 on Friday. The victory was just what Cane Ridge needed coming off of a 42-13 loss in their prior matchup.
Smyrna now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Cane Ridge, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-7.
Smyrna suffered a grim 35-14 defeat to Cane Ridge in their previous meeting back in September of 2022. Can Smyrna avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
