Davis hasn't had much luck against Syracuse recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Darts will welcome the Titans at 5:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Davis took a loss when they played away from home last Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over Farmington.
Davis had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 18-25, 25-19, 25-12, 25-21.
Zoey Walsh was the offensive standout of the contest as she had 12 digs. Pola Wong also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.
Meanwhile, Syracuse got the win against Farmington on Tuesday by a conclusive 3-0.
One reason for the win was Syracuse's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-20, 25-8.
Davis better keep an eye on Presley Worthington. She was instrumental in Syracuse's win, getting 14 digs and two assists.
Syracuse was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 12 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in three consecutive games.
Syracuse is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. As for Davis, their win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 6-11.
Davis suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Syracuse in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Can the Darts avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
