Adding to the longest winning streak in NCISAA Colonial Carolina (8 Man) this week, Southampton Academy beat Rocky Mount Academy 34-8. This was the team's eighth consecutive win.
Word of God Christian Academy fell to Hobgood Academy 80-30 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Arendell Parrott Academy's Jack Huddle and Caleb Quinn led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 5-10 quarterback Huddle has thrown for 690 yards this season, while Quinn has 32 catches for 574 yards. The Raiders' Greg "GJ" Mullins leads the league in rushing yards with 2,242.
The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between the Patriots and Hobgood Academy. Arendell Parrott Academy comes into the matchup ranked fourth in the state, while Brandon Lanier's team ranks second.
Chase Howard of the Matt Beaman's team is just 98 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 150 carries Howard has put up 902 yards this year.
Fans will be thrilled by an exciting game in the secondary when the Patriots' Quinn goes up against Hobgood Academy's Mullins.
