The Denton Broncos's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their sixth straight defeat. They took a 55-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of Argyle. While losing is never fun, Denton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 444th, while Argyle is ranked 47th).
Denton's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Ethan Sheats, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds, and Chase Thomas who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. That was a full 39.1% of Denton's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Hayden Gunter was another key contributor, scoring four points along with seven rebounds.
Denton dropped their record down to 12-22 with that defeat, which was their eighth straight at home. As for Argyle, their win bumped their record up to 25-6.
