The Alemany Warriors suffered their closest loss yet this season on Friday. They fell just short of St. Francis by a score of 47-45. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Alemany in their matchups with St. Francis: they've now lost eight in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Alemany lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jared Mims. Despite the final result, he scored 16 points along with five assists. Another player making a difference was Bourgeois Tshilobo, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.
Alemany has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-12 record this season. As for St. Francis, their victory bumped their record up to 16-8.
Alemany will be playing in front of their home fans against Sierra Canyon at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Sierra Canyon presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Alemany in California (Sierra Canyon is ranked third, while Alemany is ranked 221st). St. Francis won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Colony at 10:30 a.m. on January 20th. Colony is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home.
