After a string of nine wins, the Agua Dulce Longhorns's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They received a tough blow as they fell 41-26 to Freer. If Agua Dulce hoped to take revenge for the 40-35 defeat against they when the teams met, then they were left disappointed.
Freer found their leader in underclassman Ashlyn Butler, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Butler has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayda Washington, who scored five points along with 13 rebounds and four steals.
Agua Dulce's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 18-7. As for Freer, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing La Villa the next time they take the court. Freer will host La Villa at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while Agua Dulce will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
