The San Jacinto Tigers will challenge the Indio Rajahs at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. San Jacinto is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.1 runs per game this season.
San Jacinto had been on a four-game streak of scoring at least ten runs, but Paloma Valley put an end to it on Wednesday. The Tigers lost 8-0 to the Wildcats. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Tigers were not able to get on the board.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Indio). They never let San Bernardino get on the board and left with an 8-0 victory on Tuesday. The Rajahs not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since May 5, 2025 (when they won 16-0).
The result came thanks to Jaslynn Garcia's shutout, as she gave up just a hit.
At the plate, Audra Higgins was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and three runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2025. Audrey Drumheller was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
Indio hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are 3-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.
Indio's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-4. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for San Jacinto, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.
Indio's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: San Jacinto has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .498. It's a different story for Indio, though, as they've only averaged .336.
