Athenian's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sid Bharath, who scored 21 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bharath has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Surya Devasenapathy, who scored 18 points.
Athenian is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 16 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season. As for Redwood Christian, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-16.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Athenian will face off against Bentley at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Bentley will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 1041st, while Athenian is ranked 293rd). As for Redwood Christian, they will head out on the road to challenge Valley Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Valley Christian is on an eight-game streak of home losses, Redwood Christian a four-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change.
