Softball Recap: Make It Eight in a Row for Portland Christian

Portland Christian came tearing into Saturday's game with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.6 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Cornerstone Christian Academy Bulldogs a 15-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won 14 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Elisa Hidrogo, who went 1-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Addie Bragg, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Portland Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .621. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cornerstone Christian Academy only posted an OBP of .000.

Portland Christian's win bumped their record up to 16-11. As for Cornerstone Christian Academy, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Coincidentally, Portland Christian and Cornerstone Christian Academy will both be playing Burgin the next time they take the field. The Eagles will host the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, while the Bulldogs will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
