On Monday, the Terry Sanford Bulldogs faced the Grace Christian Crusaders in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Terry Sanford took a serious blow against Grace Christian, falling 85-44. Terry Sanford's loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.
Terry Sanford lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Breonna Roaf, who scored ten points along with five assists and two steals. Roaf is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Rebecca Kaba, who scored nine points.
Terry Sanford's loss ended a ten-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 9-4. As for Grace Christian, they pushed their record up to 18-0 with that win, which was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Terry Sanford won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against E.E. Smith at 6:00 p.m. on January 16th. Hopefully E.E. Smith focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 last Wednesday. Grace Christian won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Wesleyan Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on January 16th. Wesleyan Christian Academy is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
