The Purdue Polytechnic Techies will face off against the Indy Genesis HomeSchool Indy Genesis at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Purdue Polytechnic is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.8 runs per game this season.
Purdue Polytechnic is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 20 runs on Thursday, they were much more limited against Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter on Friday. They fell just short of the Raiders by a score of 4-2.
Diego Briceno Vega spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four runs (all of which were unearned) on three hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Nevan Jeffers made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Jeffers, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.
Meanwhile, Indy Genesis HomeSchool made easy work of Edinburgh on Monday and carried off a 14-1 win. That 13-run margin sets a new team best for the Indy Genesis this season.
Indy Genesis HomeSchool let Kris Coy and Ethan Kramer run wild. Coy went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run and six RBI, while Kramer got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, four runs, and two RBI. Those six RBI gave Coy a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Grady Brown, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Indy Genesis HomeSchool kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Edinburgh only managed four.
Indy Genesis HomeSchool has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Purdue Polytechnic, their loss dropped their record down to 10-6.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Purdue Polytechnic has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 7.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Indy Genesis HomeSchool struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 5.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Purdue Polytechnic might still be hurting after the 14-4 defeat they got from Indy Genesis HomeSchool in their previous meeting back in April of 2025.
