After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Trinity Christian Academy, The First Assembly Christian Crusaders were happy to have found some success on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Fayette Academy 58-31 on the road. The result was nothing new for First Assembly Christian, who have now won six contests by 27 points or more so far this season.
Brian Shields continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 248 yards and six touchdowns while picking up 14.6 yards per carry. First Assembly Christian also got a significant boost from Briceton Miller, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 105 yards.
Despite the loss, Fayette Academy still got an impressive performance from Corbin Bowling, who rushed for 147 yards on only 13 carries, and also threw for 208 yards and two touchdowns. Wyatt Morris also helped out as he racked up 124 rushing yards.
First Assembly Christian's victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Fayette Academy, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. First Assembly Christian will take on Tipton-Rosemark Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Fayette Academy, they will be playing at home against Harding Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Harding Academy is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak.
