Cape Henlopen is 1-9 against Sussex Central since October of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Cape Henlopen Vikings are on the road again and play against the Sussex Central Golden Knights at 7:00 p.m. on November 24th. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Cape Henlopen had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They snuck past Dover with a 25-20 victory on Friday.
Meanwhile, Sussex Central faced Appoquinimink in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Sussex Central blew past Appoquinimink 28-7.
Among those leading the charge was William Harmon, who rushed for 110 yards and three touchdowns, and also caught a touchdown.
Their wins bumped Cape Henlopen to 8-3 and Dover to 9-2.
Things could have been worse for Cape Henlopen, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 35-16 loss to Sussex Central in their previous meeting back in October. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Sussex Central's Kevon Moore briddell, who rushed for 252 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 10.5 yards per carry. Now that Cape Henlopen knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
