The King Wolves pushed their score all the way to 70 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. Their rough 90-70 loss to University might stick with them for a while. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Wednesday (62), King still had to take the loss.
King's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mathias Tinker, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds. The contest was Tinker's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Justin Brayard, who scored 14 points.
King now has a losing record at 9-10. As for University, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.
King won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Marin Catholic at 5:00 p.m. on December 29th. Marin Catholic will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 584th, while King is ranked 265th).
