The West Marion Trojans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fifth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 71-41 loss at the hands of East Marion. West Marion was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as East Marion apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played last Friday.
It was another big night for Caden Mingo, who scored 19 points along with five rebounds and three steals for East Marion. Those 19 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of LaDarien Haynes, who scored 12 points along with three steals.
West Marion's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 2-9. As for East Marion, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.
West Marion is on the road again on Friday and play against Columbia on December 22nd. East Marion will be home for the holidays to greet Jefferson Davis County at 8:30 p.m. on Friday. Jefferson Davis County will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
