You can't lose the contest if you win every quarter, and that was precisely the Wahoo Warriors's strategy against the Beatrice Orangemen on Saturday. Wahoo took down the Orangemen 81-62. Given Wahoo's advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked ninth, while the Orangemen are ranked 137th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Wahoo to victory were Marcus Glock and Dylan Simons. Glock scored 21 points along with six rebounds, while Simons scored 17 points along with four steals. Glock is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 19 or more in the last six games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Cody Hesser, who scored four points along with six rebounds and six steals.
Wahoo is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. As for Beatrice, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-10.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wahoo will take on the Trojans at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Beatrice, they will play host again and welcome the Crusaders, where tip off is scheduled for TBD on Tuesday.
