Early has gone 7-1 against Dublin recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Longhorns will head out to square off against the Lions at 5:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Early has three straight victories, Dublin has 15 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Early had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Tolar on Tuesday. The Longhorns were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over the Rattlers. Considering the Longhorns have won nine games by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Andie Simpson, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI and one stolen base. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kyleigh Caperton, who scored two runs while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Dublin came up short against Eastland on Tuesday, falling 18-3.
Dublin saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jocelyn Perez, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
Early pushed their record up to 16-8 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Dublin, their loss dropped their record down to 5-20.
Dublin's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Early has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.5 hits per game. It's a different story for Dublin, though, as they've been averaging 10.4 hits. Given Early's sizable advantage in that area, the Lions will need to find a way to close that gap.
Early took their win against Dublin when the teams last played back in March by a conclusive 18-4 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Longhorns since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
