Baseball Game Preview: McArthur Mustangs vs. Nova Titans

McArthur is preparing for their first district matchup of the season on Tuesday. They will look to defend their home field against the Nova Titans at 6:30 p.m. McArthur has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since February 10.

McArthur's last matchup with Monarch could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's match on Thursday. McArthur came up short against Monarch, falling 14-8. One positive for the Mustangs, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Dylan Dess made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Isnedit Fernandez was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double.

Dess wasn't the only one working in the home run department: McArthur lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Nova's undefeated season came to an end after six games on Friday. They fell just short of Pembroke Pines Charter by a score of 3-2. The game marked the Titans' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Nova saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jose Palencia, who scored a run while going 2-for-4. Palencia also put up two hits, which were his first of the season.

McArthur's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Nova, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 6-1.
