Adding to the longest winning streak in West Sierra this week, Mendota beat Firebaugh 45-0. This was the team's ninth consecutive win.
Mendota scaled the state rankings by moving to 264 from 304 this week, the biggest jump in the league. Robert Mejia's team was able to move up by beating the Eagles 45-0.
The Aztecs' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Estevan Trejo threw for 82 yards and Marco Rodriguez had 50 yards receiving. On the ground Edgar Segura chipped in 323 yards. Anthony Villar helped Mendota's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 32 yards.
Mendota's dynamic duo of Trejo and Rodriguez proved to be unstoppable against Firebaugh, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Villar helped Mendota's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 32 yards.
Segura was a force in the backfield as the Aztecs defeated william magnusson's team.
Segura provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Mendota bested the Eagles. Segura's key target this week was Rodriguez, who caught 2 passes for 50 yards.
Firebaugh's Josh Allen and Jordan Martinez led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-3 quarterback Allen has thrown for 3,061 yards this season, while Martinez has 56 catches for 904 yards. Segura from the Aztecs leads the league in rushing with 3,197 yards.
So far this year, he has acheived 56 catches for 904 yards.
Izzac Suarez has rushed for 950 yards on 139 carries so far this year.
Mendota took down the Eagles 45-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Segura ran for 323 yards in the win.
