After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Highland Home, the Elba Tigers were happy to have found some success on Tuesday. They took down Opp 57-43. That looming 57-43 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Elba yet this season.
Despite the defeat, Opp saw an underclassman step up: Alan Jones scored ten points along with nine rebounds. Jones also grabbed two steals for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Reed Adams, who scored five points along with seven rebounds.
Elba now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Opp, they are on a 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-11.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Elba will finish 2023 at home by hosting Pike Liberal Arts at 7:30 p.m. on December 28th. Opp will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Brantley at 7:00 p.m. on January 4, 2024.
