South Fremont hasn't had much luck against Bonneville recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. South Fremont will take on Bonneville at 3:00 p.m. South Fremont is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season.
South Fremont is headed into the contest having just suffered their closest loss since April 29, 2024 on Saturday. They fell just short of Vallivue by a score of 8-6.
Meanwhile, Bonneville entered their tilt with Minico last Wednesday with five consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with six. They put the hurt on the Spartans with a sharp 12-1 win. Considering the Bees have won four games by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Gracie Longhurst made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two hits in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
In other batting news, Alyvia Rudd was a standout: she scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. She has been hot recently, having also posted three or more RBI the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Alli Sutherland, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.
Bonneville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .562. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Minico only posted an OBP of .167.
Bonneville's record is now 6-1. As for South Fremont, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.
Tuesday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. South Fremont has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .449. However, it's not like Bonneville struggles in that department as they've averaged .522. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
South Fremont suffered a grim 18-5 defeat to Bonneville in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Can South Fremont avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
