After losing to the Seymour Wildcats the last time they met, the Wilby Wildcats decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Wilby came out on top against Seymour by a score of 60-52 on Monday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Wilby.
When it comes to explaining why Seymour lost, one person who can't be blamed is Indrit Peraj. Despite the final result, he scored 25 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Joey Carrafiello, who scored ten points along with six rebounds.
Wilby's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Seymour, their defeat ended a 12-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-1.
Wilby will be home for the holidays to greet Kennedy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Kennedy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Tuesday. As for Seymour, they will head out on the road to face off against Ansonia at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Ansonia and Seymour are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
