Meanwhile, Lucerne Valley scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. The stars were shining brightly for them in a 52-34 win over Apple Valley Christian. The win was some much needed relief for Lucerne Valley as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Lucerne Valley can attribute much of their success to Derrick Tyler, who scored 15 points along with four steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Tyler has scored at least 25% of Lucerne Valley's points. Another player making a difference was Valentin Garibay, who scored seven points along with three steals.
Excelsior Charter's victory bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Lucerne Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 2-6.
