Castro Came Up Big in Bernalillo's 37-6 Win
Starting off the list is Bernalillo's Uriel Castro, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Castro threw for 224 yards and four touchdowns while completing 73.7% of his passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making three total tackles and defending a pass in addition to snagging an interception.
Bernalillo's win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-2. Castro and Bernalillo will head out on the road to challenge Bloomfield at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Bernalillo was led to victory by Nathan Encinias, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. He also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making five total tackles (2.0 for loss) and defending two passes in addition to snagging an interception.

Leonard Martinez posted a new career-high in rushing yards on Friday. He rushed for 112 yards and two touchdowns. He didn't just play on offense: he also forced a fumble, made two total tackles, and defended three passes.
The win (which was Espanola Valley's third in a row) raised their record to 9-3. Martinez and Espanola Valley will face off against St. Pius X at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Bloomfield Wins Tenth-Straight Thanks to Peyton Duncan
Peyton Duncan was instrumental in extending Bloomfield's winning streak to ten on Saturday. Duncan's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 129 rushing yards. He showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 69 yards.
Bloomfield pushed their record up to 10-0 with the win, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. Duncan and Bloomfield will take on Bernalillo at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
