The Banner County Wildcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They took a 59-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of Potter-Dix. Banner County found out winning isn't easy when you don't work as a unit and post 11 fewer assists than your opponent.
When it comes to explaining why Banner County lost, one person who can't be blamed is Isaac Olsen. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Olsen has scored all season. Brendyn Onstott was another key contributor, scoring six points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Brayden Kasten continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Potter-Dix, dropping a double-double on 31 points and 13 steals. Another player making a difference was Jaxen Buettenback, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds and six steals.
Banner County bumped their record down to 1-11 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Potter-Dix, their victory bumped their record up to 8-5.
Banner County's road trip will continue as they head out to face Leyton at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd. As for Potter-Dix, they will face off against South Platte at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nebraska (South Platte is ranked 213th, while Potter-Dix is ranked 196th).
