Baseball Recap: Southeast Takes a Loss

Southeast lost against Bradenton Christian back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Southeast Seminoles took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bradenton Christian Panthers.

Adrian Beltran put in work while hitting and pitching. He struck out ten batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing Four bases. while going 1-for-2.

Beltran wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Connor Straubel, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one RBI. Jose Correa was another, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Southeast's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Bradenton Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-3 record this season.

Southeast will look to defend their home field on Monday against Bayshore at 6:00 p.m. Bayshore has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.33 runs per game on average), something Southeast will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Bradenton Christian, they will venture away from home to face off against Saint Stephen's Episcopal at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Saint Stephen's Episcopal comes in on three and Bradenton Christian on four.
