Two dominant guards in Lillian Barnes and Lily Scholl are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Valparaiso Vikings will take on the Northridge Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Valparaiso comes in on 12 and Northridge on three.
Valparaiso is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 58-20 win over Merrillville. The Vikings have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 15 games by 23 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Delilah Kincaid, who shot 40% from the field to rack up 14 points in addition to six rebounds and six steals. Those six steals gave her a new career-high. Bri Fincannon was another key player, putting up three points and eight boards.
Valparaiso smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 12 consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Northridge faced Warsaw in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Raiders came out on top in a nail-biter against the Tigers, sneaking past 63-60. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Raiders have posted since November 18, 2025.
The match pitted two dominant guards against one another in Scholl and Joslyn Bricker. Scholl had a great game and went 14-for-20 en route to 42 points and eight rebounds. Meanwhile, Bricker was balling out in the loss, shooting 47% from the field on her way to 25 points and five assists.
Northridge's win bumped their record up to 19-7. As for Valparaiso, their victory bumped their record up to 23-2.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Valparaiso has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 28.6 boards per game. However, it's not like Northridge struggles in that department as they've been averaging 26 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Valparaiso won a contest that couldn't have been any closer when the teams last played back in February of 2024, slipping by Northridge 47-46. Will the Vikings repeat their success, or do the Raiders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
