Emma Greer made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, she posted three strikeouts, the most she's had since back in March. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other pitching news, Elizabeth Poling looked comfortable as she tossed 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Emma Cantrell, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Camryn Osborne, who went 1-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for National Trail's offense. They came up short against Arcanum on Tuesday, falling 14-0. The loss continues a trend for the Blazers in their meetings with the Trojans: they've now lost eight in a row.
National Trail saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Taylor Reynolds, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.
Tri-Village's win was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-0. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 9.2 runs this season. As for National Trail, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-9.
Everything went Tri-Village's way against National Trail in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Tri-Village made off with a 17-1 win. Will the Patriots repeat their success, or do the Blazers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
