On Friday, Chartwell was beaten by Kirby Prep 58-24. Chartwell was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-8.
Kirby Prep got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Rain Li out in front who scored 18 points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Chris Lively, who scored 14 points.
Chartwell's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Kirby Prep, their win ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-5.
Chartwell does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Kirby Prep will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Ceiba College Preparatory Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024.
