Gregori had lost four straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 1-1 to make it five. They fell just short of the Ripon Indians by a score of 14-12. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Jaguars have suffered since April 22, 2025.
Stoner Angela and Sienna Villanueva did some serious damage despite the final result: Angela went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI, while Villanueva went 4-for-5 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Layah Belle, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
As for Ripon, they now have a winning record of 2-1. The high-scoring effort was just what they needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.
On Ripon's side, Angelina Martinez made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Martinez was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 5-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those five hits gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Ripon got a massive performance out of Izabelle Spurzem, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. That's the most hits Spurzem has posted since back in April of 2025. Jackie Faria was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI and two doubles.
Coming up, Gregori will face off against Oakdale at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Ripon, they will take on East Union at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
