Chowchilla is 1-9 against Liberty since May of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. Chowchilla will be playing at home against Liberty at 4:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.
On Friday, Chowchilla made easy work of Parlier and carried off a 15-1 victory. That 14 run margin sets a new team best for the Tribe this season.
Brianna Guardado was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Guardado was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Those two runs gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Chowchilla let April Miller and Rylee Vlot run wild. Miller scored two runs while going 2-for-3, while Vlot scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave Miller a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Lexyss Sabin, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Chowchilla always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .647. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Liberty put their dominant pitchers on display in the team's third consecutive shutout on Thursday. They never let Riverdale get on the board and left with a 20-0 win. The Hawks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by six runs or more this season.
Macie Webster made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
In other pitching news, Katie Bandy looked comfortable as she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, Liberty got a massive performance out of Ari Aguayo, who scored five runs and stole three bases while going 4-for-5. Aguayo also launched a home run, marking her first of the season. Leilah Uriarte was another key player, scoring four runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances.
Chowchilla's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-6. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to strikeouts: they averaged an imposing 8.25 strikeouts in those games compared to only 4.14 in the others. As for Liberty, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.
Tuesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Chowchilla hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .352. However, it's not like Liberty struggles in that department as they've averaged .388. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Chowchilla suffered a grim 12-2 defeat to Liberty in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can Chowchilla avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
